This is a rare July 29th, 1956 "Stagebill" (playbill) from the Summer Stock engagement of the LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN and ADOLPH GREEN musical comedy "ON THE TOWN" at the Music Theatre in Highland Park, Illinois. (The Original Broadway production opened December 28th, 1944 at the Adelphi Theatre in New York City and ran for 462 performances.) ..... This production launched the careers of several individuals who would be instrumental in shaping the future of the Broadway musical: LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN, ADOLPH GREEN and JEROME ROBBINS. The musical starred BILL HAYES, PATRICIA HAMMERLEE, JIMMIE KOMACK and JORIE REMUS and featured NANCY DUSSAULT, WES SNYDER, TOM WILLIAMS, PAT GARBER, PAT MORRISSEY, RONALD HUSMANN, ENLY WRIGHT, JACK HAYES, CHARLES CROWE, NEAL THORPE, PENNY WINSTON, KEN JOHNSON, ELAINE ROGERS, DAVE PITTS, MARY DARLENE, ORRIN KAYAN, BLANCHE LEWIS, LISA DRAKE, DAVID CRANE, SILVER SHRECK, ROBERT BAKER, HARRIET SPITZ, TIM WEINFELD and ROBERT HULTMAN ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
