    This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the two-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the JACQUELINE SUSANN and BEATRICE COLE comedy "THE TEMPORARY MRS. SMITH" at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania beginning November 25th, 1946. (The production would be retitled "LOVELY ME" before opening December 25th, 1946 at the Adelphi Theatre. The play would move to the Coronet Theatre on January 6th, 1947 and close after only 37 performances.) ..... The play starred LUBA MALINA, MISCHA AUER and MILLARD MITCHELL and featured REYNOLDS EVANS, ARTHUR SIEGEL, BARBARA BULGAKOV, JUNE DAYTON, JOYCE ALLAN, PAUL MARLIN and HOUSTON RICHARDS ..... Side Note: JACQUELINE SUSANN (1918-1974) is best known for her controversial novels, most notably "Valley of the Dolls", but started her career as an actress, appearing in seven Broadway plays and musicals between 1936 and 1945. "Lovely Me" was her only play to appear on a Broadway stage .....
