This is a rare January 4th, 1958 "Playgoer" playbill from the Pre-Broadway tryout and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the SHERWOOD ANDERSON play "WINESBURG, OHIO" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open February 5th, 1958 at the National Theatre in New York City and close after only 13 performances.) ..... The play starred DOROTHY McGUIRE, LEON AMES and JAMES WHITMORE and featured IAN WOLFE, CRAHAN DENTON, ARTHUR HUGHES, SANDRA CHURCH, BEN PIAZZA, CLAUDIA McNEIL, ROLAND WOOD, LEE KINSOLVING, ANTHONY TUTTLE, JEFF HARRIS, JOSEPH SULLIVAN, WALLACE ACTON, MARTIN FRIED, LOIS HOLMES and WOODROW PARFREY ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear to the playbill and the missing section of the flyer, this set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
