This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the Royal National Theatre revival of the groundbreaking RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical comedy "OKLAHOMA!" at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City. (The production originated in London, opening
July 15th, 1998 at London's Olivier Theatre and due to overwhelming demand, moved to the Lyceum Theatre on January 20th, 1999 for an additional five months. The Broadway production
opened March 21st, 2002 at the Gershwin Theatre and ran for 388 performances.

CREDITS: Music by RICHARD RODGERS; Book and Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN 2nd based on the play "Green Grow the Lilacs" by LYNN RIGGS. (This was the first collaboration for Rodgers and Hammerstein who would go on to write "Carousel", "The King and I", "South Pacific", "Flower Drum Song" and "The Sound of Music" among others); Sets and Costumes designed by ANTHONY WARD; Dances for the Original 1943 Production by AGNES de MILLE; Choreographed by SUSAN STROMAN; Directed by TREVOR NUNN; Produced by CAMERON MACKINTOSH by arrangement with the RODGERS and HAMMERSTEIN ORGANIZATION ..... This single page, two-sided handbill measures 4" X 9" inches and includes beautiful full-color photography on the front and promotional text and booking information on the backside ..... CONDITION: This flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
