Original Broadway production opened
September 19th, 1928 at New York's
Imperial
Theatre, moved to the
Casino Theatre on November 18th, 1929 and ran for a combined 509 performances.) ..... The musical starred ANDZIA KUZAK as "Marianne Beaunoir", RUSS REED as "Vicomte Ribaud" and MARTY LYNN as "Julie" and featured ARISTIDES COPULAS, JOHN BANKHURST, WILLIAM PIERSON, HARRY STOCKWELL, TIM HERBERT, DON SAXON, MICHAEL SHEEHY, JIM DEMAREST, RICHARD PAGE, EVELYN REYNOLDS and dancers TYGETT and BOCKMAN ..... The New Moon
premiered at the Chestnut Street Opera House in Philadelphia on December 24th, 1927. The tryout was a failure, and the show was extensively revised before a second tryout in Cleveland in August 1928. Al Goodman conducted in both Philadelphia and in New York
